Brivo ACS6100 Controller: Planning Doors and Expansion

The Brivo ACS6100 platform supports cloud-managed access control for multi-door facilities. A good design starts with the number of openings and how each door will operate, rather than the panel enclosure alone.

Plan the controller and expansion

Inventory the readers, door-position contacts, request-to-exit inputs, lock outputs and any auxiliary inputs before selecting the main board and expansion boards. Verify the current Brivo data sheet and the exact chassis and board revisions for reader capacity, compatible protocols and power requirements. Allow room for future doors only where the network, power and enclosure design supports them.

Plan each door

• Confirm compatible readers and credential format.
• Size a separate lock supply for the selected strikes or electrified exit devices.
• Configure forced-door and door-prop notifications and an audit trail.
• Test free egress, mechanical access, power loss and any approved fire-alarm interface.
