An Aiphone JO video intercom helps an Austin office or small property screen a visitor before releasing an entry door. A typical design pairs a video door station with an indoor JO answering station; app capability depends on the selected station and network setup.

Answer at the desk or on a phone

The app-enabled JO-1MDW answering station has a 7-inch touchscreen and Wi-Fi capability. With the compatible Aiphone Intercom App Type B, authorized users can answer calls, view the door station and activate a connected door-release relay from a mobile device with a working data connection. The indoor station provides a local way to answer calls when remote app access is unavailable.

Plan the complete opening

A video intercom identifies and communicates with visitors; the door release requires compatible lock hardware, a properly designed power supply and wiring. We check door swing, mechanical egress, emergency key access and any existing access control before specifying the relay connection. A JO intercom alone does not provide cardholder access management or biometrics.

Recording and maintenance

The JO-1MDW can save calls using internal memory, with a microSD expansion option. Confirm the recording setup and storage capacity for the selected equipment. We test video, two-way speech, door release and indoor and app operation at commissioning.
